Turkish Kavurma

Kavurma is a broad type of fried or sautéed meat dish found in Turkish cuisine.

İ had amazing "Kurban Bayram@Eid ul Adha@Festival of Sacrifice" experience last 2015 in a village in Tosya - Kastamonu. On Eid morning, we prayed Eid prayer@bayram namazi in a nearby mosque. After the prayer, the male members in the familiy slaughtered a small cow in front of their house.

Rightt after slaughtering ,all of us started helping by cutting and seperated the parts of the cows . The meat then being seperated to be freezed , kavurma, ground in butcher and for donation to the nearby student hostels. The way they cook kavurma seemed simple but took long time ,dry frying the meat to render down the fat and adding salt and some spices(optional) it's super tasty. After being cooked they put the kavurma into the jars to be preserved . There's no need to put them in a fridge and it can last long. İt was a great experience to spend Eid with my Turkish family🥰
